Are you keen to reduce waste and use eco-friendly printing and promotional products and recyclables?  Is part of your brand strategy to demonstrate your commitment to sustainability and the environment?  There are many ways to achieve your goals.

I don’t know about you but protecting the environment is an important topic for our business and industry.  While digital assets are important, most businesses still want and need a number of print-related products.  Think about it.  Chances are, you still use one or more of the following:

  • Brochures and flyers
  • Business cards and presentations
  • Newsletters, envelopes and labels
  • Postcards and mailers
  • Branded promotional products
  • Signs and banners

Using printed materials doesn’t mean you are ignoring your company’s sustainability goals.  In fact, today’s manufacturing offers more options than ever to support your environmental program while also helping promote your brand.

Eco-Friendly Screen Printing and Embroidery

Exactly what does an eco-friendly shirt or bag look or feel like?  In reality, most products that fall into the sustainable category look and feel like every other product.

Take for example hemp.  Hemp requires less water to grow making it more environmentally friendly than pure cotton.  Shirts made from a blend of hemp and cotton are soft to the touch and hold up over many wash cycles.

What about recycled content?  Some clothing products contain small amounts of recycled content such as plastic bottles.  For example, shirts that are a 50/50 blend of cotton and polyester can contain 5% to 8% polyester from recycled plastic bottles.  These shirts feel like every other blend and also hold up over time.

The screen-printing process does require chemicals, so be sure your provider uses water-based chemicals to reduce the environmental impact.  Embroidery using natural fiber yarn is also an option for personalization.

Paper and Ink

If you’re looking for sustainable printing, then the conversation has to start with paper.  Did you know that in North America, we grow many more trees than we actually harvest?  The most eco-friendly paper products contain pre-consumer recycled content and are sourced from sustainably managed forests.  They also use chlorine-free processing.

Sustainable Promotional Products

There are more choices than you can imagine when it comes to sustainable promotional products.  From recycled paper notebooks to sustainably sourced bamboo pens to reusable straws and recycled cups.  Consider promoting your brand and your sustainability commitment through branded products such as:

  • Recycled Paper Notebooks
  • Eco-friendly Plant-based Pens
  • Eco-Friendly Plastic Card USB Drives
  • Bamboo Fiber Reusable Tumblers
  • Reusable Stainless Straw Sets
  • Sumatra Cotton Canvas Tote Bags
  • Hemp T-shirts
  • And more!
